Let's Go Wild: A Safari Giveaway!

When I was first getting (back) into miniatures as an adult, my childhood memories of playing with minis came flooding back. I suddenly saw the potential in everyday items, ordinary household objects, and especially children's toys. Trips to the toy store were not only welcomed by my three kids, but encouraged by me!

I gravitated especially toward mini animal figurines and similar toys, which can work so well as adorable accents in nurseries and other scenes, like this one from 2009, right after I started blogging:

Check out the full post, too!

See that little dino on the wardrobe, at the upper right of the photo? That was one of my first purchases of Safari Ltd. toys, and I have bought many since. And now...

I am so thrilled to offer a wonderful giveaway of TWO Safari Ltd. products to one of my readers!

Safari's TOOBS sets are among my favorites of their products. Like other Safari products, they are well-made and lively replicas--the Around the World and Trains sets present so many great opportunities for mini scenes, in 1:12 and larger scales. Have a look at these realistic painted rubber pieces!

GIVEAWAY DETAILS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED -- Winner revealed here!

  • I will be giving away one Around the World set and one Trains set to one lucky reader!

  • To enter, simply comment on this post anytime between today and Saturday, September 15, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. You may only comment once. Please share how you might use the sets for your mini endeavors, or even just to play. You don't have to own a dollhouse to win them!!

I am so glad I am able to thank my loyal readers a cool giveaway! Thanks for following and GOOD LUCK

And be sure to check out the latest with Safari Ltd. on their website, and on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. The company is celebrating 30 years in the business -- congrats and thanks, Safari!

  1. I love those! I knew about them from my nephew collecting them to use with his toy soldiers and Star Wars sets. Those would be perfect for staging mini monster movie sets-just get a big toy lizard to stomp through historic sites, or smash trains over. Or make a little mini museum for an alien world...
And they would be great to go along with the B Movie Action Figures set I've been wanting... http://www.amazon.com/Accoutrements-Horrified-B-Movie-Victims-Playset/dp/B000GPYQOA

  3. Que maravilla de regalos, soy fanática de los trenes (lo heredé de mi padre) con el tren haría una mesa de juguete para él y con el de arround the world haría una exposición como de un viajero.

    Un abrazo

  5. I like those. I would use them as statues or musueum rooms. I would have to see them first to really get an idea on where I would use them. I think we have them at JoAnn's, If I am thinking about the same thing.

  8. I LOVE Safari LTD Toobs as does my youngest son! I've never seen either the Around the World or the Trains sets locally. I work mainly in 1/6th scale and would love to use some of the AtW pieces on shelves and desks and such. I think my son (who is 7) would be thrilled to add the Trains to his toy collection! How generous of both you and Safari LTD to offer this great give away!

  13. This post was perfectly timed, yesterday me and my little four year old hiked in the woods for four hours and I had to keep her brain busy, so she would walk the whole way ;), sneaky I know. For her fourth birthday I built her a dollhouse based on "Room by room" shoe rack brilliant idea. So yesterday we were brainstorming what would have to be in the house addition, shoe rack house number two. Her current house is full of kids from her Playmobil swimming pool set and I had to sew 10 sleeping bags for the poor things. So I floor will be a huge children's bedroom and one floor will be a dream play room! Well great, but where do I find durable replicas of her favorite trains? And you just answered my biggest challenge, thanks so much :)))) I even have a design of a recessed ball pitt

  18. Count me in! I would enjoy both sets.

I'd use the around the world set in a contemporary, urban, apartment setting. I live in New York City, so I can see the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building on display in variety of scenes.

The train sets would be fun in a children's room or under a Christmas tree.

Thank you, for opportunity to win this giveaway.

  22. Aw, so sweet! I didn't know they did trains - small scale engines cost a bomb; I'm totally willing to cheat a little!

The trains would definitely get set up in the nursery. Around the world would take a bit more planning...
